How to activate your FordPass Connect Modem
Ford is committed to helping small business owners and fleet operators keep their vehicles connected, safe and operating efficiently. Thanks to the new FordPass Pro smartphone application, the manufacturer aims to optimise the efficiency and productivity of SMEs by allowing the user to check the status of the car remotely, book a tune-up and view the location of up to five of the brand's models from the same screen. It also provides the necessary tools and information in order to assure the owner that their vehicles are ready to work with the maximum period of activity.
A simple solution
Time is important for small business owners, so we focus on delivering simple technology solutions that we know make a big difference," explains Richard Bunn, director of Ford Mobility Europe. "FordPass Pro will help our customers spend less time managing their vehicles and more time making their business a success," adds Bunn.
The application is intuitive for any user. Its most notable features are the home screen, for dynamic and instant access to important information about each vehicle (e.g. displaying AdBlue levels, so owners know when to fill up the tank); location, which allows you to know where cars are at the beginning or end of the day, as well as helping drivers find their vehicles in busy parking lots or workplaces; remote lock/unlock, which provides assurance that vehicles and their contents are safe, as well as allowing the cab and cargo compartment to be independently protected. With automatic vehicles, you can even start the engine from the application to warm them up on the coldest mornings. Simply open the control centre with a tap to control the vehicle remotely.
Plan for the future
Other notable features include the vehicle's health, which displays the car's main indicators, helping to reduce wear and improve fuel economy; the alarm notification, thanks to which owners will immediately know if any of their vehicles' alarms have been activated; and the remote start, through which cars can be ready to work and at the perfect temperature first thing in the morning.
But that's not all. In fact, the idea is that these solutions will continue to grow. FordPass Pro will add new features and useful enhancements to its list of tools on a regular basis. The next will be a reinforced security mode, which will allow owners of vehicles equipped with FordPass Connect to receive alerts about any activity in their car (even if they are unlocked with a key), providing an extra dose of protection and confidence, being able to solve problems as quickly as possible and avoid unforeseen costs in the future. In addition, online booking will help you proactively manage vehicle maintenance.
